Can't wait to return! From the minute you walk into this place, you feel like you've stepped back in time. The owners welcomed us at the front desk when we arrived, and couldn't have been more hospitable. We got to learn about the history of this unique historic building, and all the work they did to lovingly restore it to period-appropriate decor and furnishings. It's not far from Cleveland in a fascinating small town that's worth the visit, and the rooms are each unique, well appointed and very clean. We absolutely loved this place and will be back again and again.

I booked a night here for my wife when she exclaimed, "I need a night to myself!". When I booked the room, I scheduled it for a month before the date I intended. The folks at Steele emailed me asking if it was in error, and when I didn't respond soon enough, they changed the date for me to make sure I didn't lose my reservation by no showing. Beyond that kind gesture, my wife had the best night to herself. She kept saying how wonderful everyone was, how cool and unique the mansion is, and they even let her stay a little past checkout so she could take another nap to enjoy her day a little longer. I wasn't the one that stayed, but I promise if my wife wrote this review, she would have gushed way more than I have. Stay here. Support this business.

One of the best B&Bs ever! The beds are comfy, the rooms are spacious, the towels are super soft and fluffy and the house is so beautiful! I cannot recommend a stay here enough! If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend even just stopping in to look at the house which has been restored beautifully with so many interesting antiques from the area. The history of the house is intriguing showing its importance in the local area. The staff were great and very friendly as well! They even put chocolates on the pillows! Just stay you won't be disappointed!

My husband and I were looking for something different than a run-of-the-mill hotel for our anniversary weekend getaway and Steele Mansion was anything but the usual. This place was spectacular. The owners saved it from demolition and rebuilt into a beautiful piece of history. What a gem! We spent a long time looking at the decorations on each floor, and enjoyed a well-appointed, themed room with a comfortable bed. We stayed in the Domino room on the third floor and were thrilled with how clean and well kept everything was. Mary, at the front desk, gave us some of the history, invited us to view all of the spaces from the basement to the third floor, gave us great suggestions for dinner, and crafted a delicious cocktail for my husband at the in-house bar to finish off the evening. In the morning we enjoyed a wonderful hot/cold breakfast buffet, relaxed and took our time heading out due to the later, 11 am checkout. Because each of the 16 uniquely themed guest rooms were booked, we could not see all of them, but right before check-out we saw several of the rooms were empty and the doors were open, so we peeked in. In the main space on the first floor there are photo albums, and a short video of the owner, explaining the process of rebuilding the property and converting it into a hotel. We noticed a couple of guests had dogs with them, but did not see any families. Because the hotel is like a museum, and noise travels easily through the halls, we would not recommend staying there with young children, though we saw nothing that said children weren't welcome. The guest rooms are on the second and third floors, and breakfast is in the basement. There is a small elevator, however we only used it once because 1. It was VERY slow, and 2. We wanted to view the property. We have decided to visit again, and possibly many more times, and book different rooms so we can explore them all!

This place certainly has the wow factor! Such a pristine eye for detail did not go unnoticed, from furtiture, fixtures, luxury marble tops everywhere in the huge rooms (spacious would be an understatement), immaculately clean NICE bathrooms! Super nice friendly staff. I was expecting an old mansion with old smells but not at all! Fresh, clean, new modern yet with the look of Victorian era in it's prime, with a great story to boot.

Our family has been going here for Thanksgiving dinner for 5 yrs. This is no small gathering since our children & grandchildren add up to 54! All we asked Carol is to have us at ONE table & she wasn’t even challenged by that request! A beautiful table was always set with china, glassware, tablecloths, centerpieces, & even cranberry cutouts of an acorn at each table setting!!🤗
